To celebrate Healthy Eating Week, we’re sharing one of our favourite and most nutritious breakfasts. Chia pots are perfect for breakfast or a mid-morning snack. They’re easy to put together and look so beautiful! This infographic details just a few of the health benefits of chia seeds…
If you have glass jars / pots, they work really well – as you can see the lovely colours through the glass.
You’ll need;
- Chia seeds
- Cashew milk / any flavoured nut or coconut milk (rebel kitchen mylks work brilliantly)
- Fruit of your choice – we used peaches and berries
- A drizzle of date syrup / maple syrup or your preferred sweetener
- A spoonful of nut butter
- Cacao nibs to decorate
Step 1 – In a bowl, put 5 or 6 tablespoons of chia seeds and double that amount of your preferred milk. Stir really well and make sure all of the chia seeds have been covered in the liquid. Stir every couple of minutes.
Step 2 – After about 20 minutes or so, the chia seeds will have soaked in the liquid. Pour half of the seeds into the base of your glass jar.
Step 3 – Layer your fruit around the inside of the jar (this gives a lovely effect from the outside, especially strawberries!)
Step 4 – Alternate fruit and chia seeds until the jar is full
Step 5 – Add a dollop of nut butter, a drizzle of date syrup and a few berries and cacao nibs for decoration!
ENJOY!
