Nom Party Games

We’re in December, and that means Christmas parties! There are family gatherings and kids’ parties to organise and the big question is how to keep everyone (and especially any little ones) entertained during the day. Here at Nom we’ve come up with a couple of fun and yummy ideas that you can try – they’re perfect for children but great fun for big kids too!

GUESS THE INGREDIENTS

Children love to be challenged, and what better way than a ‘guess the ingredients’ competition.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Nom Original Bars
Nom Raspberry and Cacao Bars
Nom Banana Bars
Nom Salted Maple
Nom Cinnamon Maple Popcorn
Nom Tomato Pesto Popcorn

HOW IT WORKS

First, you’ll need to unpackage and chop up some of each Nom Bar flavour into bitesize squares, making sure to note down which flavour is which!
Unpackage the different popcorn flavours into different bowls.
Number each of the different foods 1 – 6.
Give each child a piece of paper, divided into 6 with each section numbered.
Get each child to try each type and write down what ingredients they think might be in the snack.
Give a point for each correct ingredient.
If you want you can give out a prize to the winner! This is a great game, as the kids can all try at the same time, and it doesn’t any fancy equipment.

POPCORN TOWERS

This one can get a bit messy, so be sure to set up on a table that’s easy to clean!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Nom Popcorn (any flavour will work)
Maple syrup and dates, blended into a sticky paste
Tape measure or ruler
Timer

HOW IT WORKS

Get the children into pairs or small groups
Give each group a bowl of popcorn and some honey
Set a timer for 3 minutes
The groups then have until the timer runs out to build the tallest tower they can.
Measure up the towers, and a prize can be given to the group with the tallest.

NOM BAR DECORATING

This is a great one for kids who would rather not compete, and just want to be creative and have some fun.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Nom Original Bars
Paper plates
Maple syrup
Various fruit, chopped into slices if necessary
Desiccated coconut
Coconut Whipped Cream
Cinnamon
Cocoa powder in a sprinkling container

HOW IT WORKS

Give each child a Nom bar on a paper plate
Place chopped fruit, desiccated coconut, honey and the cinnamon and cocoa sprinkles in the middle of the table
The children then have free reign to be as creative as they like, using the toppings to decorate their Nom bar.
