Q&A with Hamish

1. Tell us a bit about yourself…

I’m half English and half Maltese from my mother’s side and still can’t decide which half is better! I’ve always lived an active life, I was heavily involved in rowing throughout school years. Sailing and skiing are my favourite past times. I’ve always been a big fan of the healthy ‘Mediterranean’ diet and I firmly believe in promoting a ‘healthy on the inside, healthy on the outside’ lifestyle.

2. What’s your role and how did you come to work at Nom?

My official role at Nom is ‘Head of Operations’. The role is diverse and fulfilling. I look after a portion of the new business development, account management, operations and day-to-day running of Nom. I first came across Nom when Steph was setting up the company back in 2013. I lent a helping hand in some of the more enjoyable tasks like making bars and delivering orders. After a short stint in the army, one hip reconstruction and a little time in Malta working in business advisory, it was great to hear from Steph who was looking for someone to come on board and help drive the business forward.

3. What’s the best thing about being part of the business?

Alongside working with a friend, the exponential growth of the company is fascinating to be a part of – and the potential for where Nom’s products can go is really exciting. I suppose the prospect of being part of something which has the potential to change the world of snacking also really appeals.

4. Your favourite Nom product?

It’s a tossup between the Cacao & Raspberry bar and the Salted Maple popcorn. I suppose I will just have to eat more of both!

5. Tell us about the exciting things going on at Nom HQ.

There are some really exciting things going on at Nom HQ, including a new launch which I’m sure will excite all you foodies – particularly the GLUTEN FREE ones… (hint hint).
